The gates have closed on the Tire Technology Expo, which was held from 10 to 12 February in Cologne, Germany. It is the world’s most important trade show and conference for tire manufacturing technologies, in which Beckhoff has now taken part for the twelfth time in a row. “The concept of the Tire Technology, which is to be a trade show and at the same time a platform for the exchange of information, is an outstanding success from our point of view and we make use of it accordingly. The event offers us a forum in which to be distinguished by end customers in our global presence and as a reliable automation partner with high industry expertise, but it also enables us to strengthen our contacts with machine manufacturers and system integrators”, stresses Klaus Büttner, Business Management Tire and Rubber Industry at Beckhoff.
Despite the currently rather reserved investment behaviour in the industry, the number of visitors to the Beckhoff trade show booth slightly increased this year, so we are very satisfied with the result. Our modular PC-based control platform is very well suited to the execution of retrofits, so we are in demand as partner in the modernisation or extension of existing plants. “What we are seeing is a change of trends in the visitors: Whereas it used to be more the technicians, it is now the case that a great many end customers, especially from the buyer/management level, are coming to the trade show”, Klaus Büttner emphasises.
For the first time Beckhoff brought together colleagues from Beckhoff subsidiaries and distribution partners all over the world at its trade show booth in order to underline its global presence and global expert knowledge. “We will be repeating the presence of the foreign colleagues every two years. As it turned out, the mutual exchange of information between colleagues is very important for the strengthening of our global expertise network”, explains Alexander Kruse, Key Account Manager at Beckhoff. “On top of that, our colleagues from China and the USA also successfully used the trade show to initiate new business relationships.”
