WindEnergy Hamburg, the internationally leading tradeshow for wind energy, came to a successful close on 30 September. Some 1,400 exhibitors from 34 countries from around the world presented the entire value-added chain for the wind industry in nine exhibition halls to provide a comprehensive overview of the current status and the future of the wind industry. Drawing 35,000 trade professionals visiting from 48 different countries, the show was very well attended. “As far as Beckhoff is concerned, the show was very successful,” commented Dirk Kordtomeikel, Business Manager Wind Energy at Beckhoff. “We have been active in the wind industry for the past 16 years and have been exhibiting regularly at HusumWind, the show that alternates with WindEnergy Hamburg every two years, since 2003. We have automated 45,000 wind energy plants to date so that we can confidently claim to have already made a name for ourselves in the industry – and that we also know all the renowned manufacturers of wind energy plants.”
The large number of visitors registered at the Beckhoff booth indicates that, with such topics as “condition monitoring” and “Industrie 4.0 for the wind industry”, Beckhoff has its finger on the pulse of the times. “With the TwinCAT Wind Framework, we offer a software solution that contributes to greater efficiency – from the programming and the start-up of a wind turbine to its maintenance and right on up to energy production – and also makes it possible to utilise the advantages of Industrie 4.0 for the wind energy industry. The tradeshow visitors were also very impressed with our EL3751 and EL3783 measurement terminals,” explained Dirk Kordtomeikel.
