EL6614 | Ethernet switch port terminal

The EL6614 Ethernet switch port terminal is used for the decentralised connection of Ethernet devices to the EtherCAT Terminal network. The EtherCAT system relays the Ethernet communication of the connected devices fully transparent and collision-free.

The EL6614 Ethernet switch port terminal is a decentralised switch that gets power from the E-bus. It relays the frames received from the ports to the destination ports. In full duplex mode, it thus enables collision-free communication of the connected devices with each other.

The switch port terminal can be installed at any location within the EtherCAT strand. No configuration is required.
